Anu Pulkkinen began her role as the organist of the Helsinki Cathedral in September 2023. Before that, she worked as the organist at Kuopio Cathedral and as an art teacher of organ performance and liturgical music at the University of the Arts’ Sibelius Academy.

Pulkkinen graduated with a Master of Music degree from the Church Music Department of the Sibelius Academy in 1998, where her teachers included Juha Laasio and Professor Erkki Tuppurainen. She completed her A-level organ examination under the guidance of Professor Kari Jussila in 2001. Pulkkinen has participated in several organ masterclasses across Europe, including in Paris as a student of Naji Hakim. She regularly performs across Finland in solo concerts and in collaboration with choirs, soloists, and chamber music ensembles. She has also toured Italy, Austria, Hungary, Estonia, and Germany.

Pulkkinen was awarded the title Director Musices in 2019.
